I am beyond grateful that you have taken the time to watch this video. It is a privilege to share my story with you. My dream is that the youth of Gulu will go even further in life and basketball than I have. However, the impact of this project goes beyond success in basketball. Studies have shown that kids who participate in sports perform better academically, socially, and emotionally. I am excited for these courts to provide a safe place for the youth to learn these life skills that will prepare them for a brighter future.

Building the courts is part of phase 1 of Gulu City Park, which will be the only public park in the city of Gulu.  All four basketball courts will be built with a sturdy aggregate foundation and asphalt as the playing surface. The courts will be used not only for daily training and playing but also for hosting different tournaments and events. $60,000 USD is what it will take to achieve this dream. Once the funds have been raised, construction of the courts will begin immediately. Any additional money raised will either go to solar lighting for the courts or into phase 2 of Gulu City Park.

I would like to thank World Embrace for allowing me to assist them in serving the kids and community in my hometown.

Also, I would like to thank you for helping us make this dream become a reality!  All donations are tax-deductible.

Stronger Together,

Claire Lamunu
