UGANDA

CULTURE SHIFT

World Embrace is part of a radical culture shift in Uganda toward kingdom culture. The local church is starting to work together to make Uganda more like heaven.

The leaders of each major denomination have agreed to work together to see a nation healed and changed.

The government recognizes the great need for unity in Uganda. They have entrusted to World Embrace prime land in the heart of Gulu to develop a community centre that will positively impact their region.

In 2018, World Embrace and the local church broke ground for the CHAMPIONS CENTRE. It will be the first large scale community centre in Northern Uganda and one of the biggest community centres in East Africa. The CHAMPIONS CENTRE will be a catalyst for change in Gulu, a neutral ground where churches and ministries can come together to positively affect the 7 major spheres of influence.

BELOW IS THE WORK THAT HAS ALREADY BEGUN.

 CULTURE

PECE WAR MEMORIAL STADIUM RENOVATION

World Embrace partnered with the local government and community in renovating the only sports stadium in Northern Uganda. The East African Games were recently held here.

SPORTS LEAGUES

World Embrace is developing basketball, volleyball and soccer leagues for the youth and adults of Gulu. We'll be involved in construction of courts, chaplaincy and league oversight. There are thousands waiting to play.

CHAPLAINS

The sports teams of Gulu are asking to be mentored and discipled. In response, we are training local chaplains for each team.

ARTISTS COLLABORATIVE

Local song writers and musicians are coming together to write and produce music that honours Jesus. Songs and music videos will be aired on radio and television

GULU ADVISORY TEAM

Our advisory team meets twice weekly to seek God's leading. They identify opportunities and create strategies to show Jesus' love in Gulu. Our team is currently made up of Catholic, Pentecostal, Anglican, Baptist, United Methodist,Seventh Day Adventist and Orthodox believers.

BIBLE DISTRIBUTION

Over 1,000 bibles have been distributed in the Gulu area. A library has been set up to provide learning material for pastors who want to deepen their knowledge of the bible.

HOSPITAL MINISTRY

Every week a team of believers went into the local hospitals to bring food, prayer, and support to many patients.

WELL REPAIR

Many wells are in need of repair. This causes long wait times and long walks for the many families who rely on these wells for water. This outreach is just beginning and every well we repair will have a sign with John 4:13-14.

CHILDREN'S JAIL

Renovations were completed to the classrooms, sleeping quarters and bathrooms. Two teachers were hired to provide education to children while in jail. Breakfast is now served every morning and school/sanitary supplies are also provided.

We're praying into how we can get involved in the business sphere of influence.

GOVERNMENT MEETINGS

The World Embrace Unity Centre has hosted many government meetings and continues to be a hub where strategic planning for the community takes place.

RADIO SHOW

ONE VOICE RADIO is a 25 minute live call-in radio show that airs weekly on Sunday mornings. Initiated by World Embrace, it is hosted by local Christian leaders who address trending social issues.

NEWSPAPER

Articles in local and national newspapers are covering the positive work being done through World Embrace and the local unified church.

MEDIA TRAINING COURSES

World Embrace offers courses for local pastors, leaders and those in media to increase their ability to create quality media content.
